  • Down to Earth Preschool meets in the Bethel education building. They offer families a part-time preschool option in a small, nurturing learning environment. The preschool operates 5 days a week from 9 am-1 pm. Children ages 2-5 have lots of fun with math and literacy through theme-based and hands-on learning adventures. They spend time exploring nature on Bethel’s large outdoor playground, investigate science experiments, and learn how to be kind and loving friends. The halls are always filled with giggles during the week, because at DTE the fun never stops! Bethel finds ways to connect with Down to Earth, like holding a Blessing of the Backpacks at the start of the school year and welcoming Down-to-Earth families to Bethel community meals and special events.

  • Columbia Weavers and Spinners’ Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that promotes and supports fiber artists in mid-Missouri. Its purpose is to increase public awareness and to enhance the appreciation of all aspects of fiber arts. Fiber enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels are welcomed as members. The guild was founded in 1947 as the Columbia Weavers Guild and specialized in weaving alone. Since their founding they have grown to encompass other fiber arts such as spinning, dyeing, felting, papermaking, knitting, basket weaving, surface design, and more. Now called the Columbia Weavers and Spinners’ Guild, they welcome weavers, spinners, and fiber enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Members include beginners, hobbyists, professionals and teachers. Bethel hosts monthly Guild meetings and houses their library archives in a room off the fellowship hall.

  • Bethel Church is a voting center for our neighborhood (link to Boone County Elections here).

We recently made a decision to be a spot where neighbors can come to register to vote as well. Watch the website events page for dates and times which will be published soon.

  • Are you interested in needlework?

Please join us twice a month to work on cross stitch, needlepoint, or embroidery. If you do yarn work and want a group to visit with while you do that, Join us!

We stitch the first and third Thursdays of the month at 5:30 pm in the Activities building here at Bethel Church. All are welcome.

In September 2001, a group of women who all crossed stitched started going to a Cross Stitch store in Mexico, MO, twice a month to visit and work on their craft. When the store unfortunately closed, the women looked for a place to meet and stitch together. They tried several places - the library, a coffee shop, and each other's houses. The group finally found a home at Bethel Church and have been meeting here ever since. If you have any questions, contact one of the original members, Jackie Craig [jacraig6@gmail.com].
